Host

Have storage at idle? Make it available to Atidle.

If you have unused storage on a machine you already run, you can offer it to the Atidle network as a Host. You run the storage-node software. Atidle verifies, admits, and places encrypted customer data only when a node is suitable.

What a Host does

A Host runs the Atidle storage-node software and makes eligible disk capacity available to the network.

Customer files are encrypted on the customer’s device before they are stored.

Hosts store opaque encrypted data, not readable customer files. Atidle coordinates accounts, placement, and verification. That is confidentiality of stored objects, not a claim of anonymity.

What Hosts earn

$2.00 per verified physical decimal TB-month of eligible customer data actually stored.

  • Compensation is prorated by verified occupied byte-time.
  • Registering as a Host does not create earnings.
  • Offering unused capacity does not create earnings.
  • There is no minimum earnings guarantee.

Minimum usable capacity

Public Host admission requires 200 GB usable capacity per node.

That is a minimum, not an increment. A Host may offer 347 GB, 1 TB, 12.4 TB, or any larger usable amount. The floor is operator-verified usable capacity, not advertised empty space.

How it works

  1. Create an Atidle account.
  2. Start Host onboarding.
  3. Receive and use the short-lived enrollment credential.
  4. Run and register the storage node.
  5. Atidle verifies the node, usable capacity, reachability, and topology.
  6. An operator admits suitable Hosts. Admission is not automatic.
  7. Admitted nodes can become placement eligible.
  8. Earnings begin only when eligible customer data is actually stored and verified.

Registration is not verification. Verification is not admission. Admission is not placement eligibility. Placement eligibility is not payability.

What Hosts need

  • U.S. participation during the current public alpha, with Host equipment in the United States unless Atidle approves otherwise.
  • Age 18 or older.
  • At least 200 GB of usable capacity on the node.
  • A machine that can reliably run the Atidle storage-node software (currently Linux).
  • Persistent local disk, not ephemeral scratch space.
  • Stable internet connectivity and the ability to keep the node reasonably available.
  • Public reachability so Atidle can verify and use the node.
